Celebrate World Sake Day with a TYKU Sake cocktail.
In celebration of World Sake Day, let’s raise a glass to the polished-rice beverage. The popular alcoholic drink, which originated around 700 AD in Nara, Japan, is one of the cleanest brewed beverages in the world.

One of my favorite options is TYKU Sake. A leader in premium sake, the brand is crafted and imported from the famed Umenoyado Brewery in the heart of Nara. The Yoshida family has overseen the brewery for more than 124 years, spanning five generations, and it is currently led by Kayo Yoshida, who is the first female brewery president in Nara. TYKU Sake includes only four natural ingredients: premium non-GMO rice, pure soft water (which gives the sake a softer, more feminine taste), yeast and handmade koji (an enzyme that starts the fermentation process). It is gluten-free, sulfite-free, tannin-free and five times less acidic than wine. TYKU Sake is available in five unique expressions created for every type of sipping experience. And since premium sakes are best served chilled, here are a few cocktail recipes to try.
