Caravela at Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina, BVI

Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina entices with a Luxe in Love private-island getaway package—making it a perfect V-Day vacay.

Love it or hate it, Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. And if you do have a sweetie to shower with affection, this package is just the ticket. Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina  is offering an uberluxe V-Day package that includes everything from helicopters and Dom Pérignon to a swim with dolphins experience and a private island-hopping charter—and much more.

Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina, part of The Autograph Collection  of independent hotels, opened in 2010. The resort was named after its location, a peaceful 230-acre, private-island located at the east end of Tortola in the British Virgin Islands. (One of my favorite places on Earth.) It is nestled into a rugged cliff that overlooks the Atlantic Ocean, the Caribbean Sea and neighboring uninhabited islands, so you know it’s a haven for some serious R&R.

Here, you’ll find 52 guest rooms and suites with traditional Caribbean decor, private patios with marina and ocean views, king-size beds with Egyptian-combed cotton sheets and free WiFi access (though you’d be crazy to even touch a computer while you’re here). The resort also offers a collection of two-, three- and four-bedroom oceanfront villas. Each features an expansive outdoor terrace, custom furnishings, works by local artists, a master suite with king-size bed, a full gourmet kitchen with separate dining area, a spacious living room that opens to the main terrace, and a private plunge pool or Infinity-edge pool. Another benefit of booking a villa is that a private chef and butler service can also be arranged.

Other amenities at the resort include the intimate Ixora Spa by L’OCCITANE, which boasts treatment rooms with breathtaking views. The spa menu includes everything from facials and massages to body scrubs and wraps, hydrotherapy and spa packages. I can’t deny it—the signature Ixora Shea-Nurturing Massage Immortelle Secret of Youth Facial (2.5 hours for $360) is seriously calling my name. Also on offer at Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina is the world-class restaurant, Caravela, which offers a different themed menu each night (ranging from Asian and Mexican to Chilean and Italian), so you can keep your taste buds happy! You’ll also find three private beaches and a 55-slip marina.

Now to the really exciting part. The Luxe in Love package, which is available for stays from Feb. 11-17, features all kinds of romantic perks. It includes a four-night stay in a two-bedroom hillside villa (with unparalleled views of the Caribbean Sea); helicopter transfer from Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport (EIS); a bottle of Dom Pérignon Rosé Champagne and Beluga caviar upon arrival (can you say decadence?); a romantic five-course Valentine’s Day dinner for two in a private cabana on the Grand Pavilion (with wine pairings, a dozen roses and Champagne with dessert); dinner for two in a guest villa (prepared and served by a private chef) with a bottle of Remy Martin XO cognac for a nightcap by the private plunge pool; a private helicopter tour of the BVI (including a picnic on a secluded beach); swimming with dolphins; a couples half-day retreat at the spa; a private island-hopping charter for two; daily breakfast; Clive Christian perfume for her and private butler service from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. daily. If that’s not enough, you’ll also have unlimited use of the resort’s sea kayaks and stand-up paddleboards. So, there’s plenty to keep you busy, but that’s only if you and your honey leave the villa! Package starts at $16,500 per couple. Call 877-890.7444 to book.

And Just Because…

Sangria Lolea
Meet Sangria Lolea!

I love sangria—and the look of these sweet bottles. So, I wanted to introduce you to Sangria Lolea, just in time for Valentine’s Day. The brand offers two gourmet sangrias (No.1 red sangria and No. 2 white sangria) that pull inspiration from their Mediterranean region of origin. And while sangria is a traditional and popular drink in many Spanish towns, I’m sure we could all use a little sangria infusion (whether we’re at the beach or just having a few friends over for dinner). Plus, the polka-dot bottles add a pop of flair to any occasion.

The No. 1 red variety boasts a light cherry tone that’s clear and bright with fine steady bubbles. Once you pour a glass, notice the cherry, orange peel, lemon drop, cinnamon and strawberry scents. High notes of grapes and sweet fruit adds to the full-bodied, silky taste that’s finished with slight bitter notes.

The No. 2 white variety, meanwhile (known as a Clarea), starts off with an aromatic Meditterranean Muscat grape as the wine base. From there, you’ll notice a hint of vanilla that blends with lemon and orange aromas. The No. 2 is considered more sophisticated and chic than its sister red sangria—thanks to a touch of jasmine, apricot and loquat—but each are equally fine.

Whichever number you choose, you’ll find a bottle that’s bursting with the combined flavors of wine and fruit—all topped off with a frizzante touch. And, it’s made in limited production each year—from all natural ingredients and with a moderate amount of alcohol. $19.50 per bottle

Excellent blog! Do you have any tips and hints for aspiring writers? I’m hoping to start my own site soon but I’m a little lost on everything. Would you suggest starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many options out there that I’m totally overwhelmed .. Any suggestions? Thanks!|

My spouse and I absolutely love your blog and find a lot of your post’s to be what precisely I’m looking for. Does one offer guest writers to write content for you personally? I wouldn’t mind composing a post or elaborating on many of the subjects you write about here. Again, awesome site!|

I’ve been surfing online more than 3 hours lately, but I by no means discovered any interesting article like yours. It’s beautiful price sufficient for me. In my opinion, if all web owners and bloggers made excellent content material as you probably did, the internet shall be a lot more helpful than ever before.|

Hey I know this is off topic but I was wondering if you knew of any widgets I could add to my blog that automatically tweet my newest twitter updates. I’ve been looking for a plug-in like this for quite some time and was hoping maybe you would have some experience with something like this. Please let me know if you run into anything. I truly enjoy reading your blog and I look forward to your new updates.|

Woah! I’m really enjoying the template/theme of this website. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s hard to get that “perfect balance” between user friendliness and visual appeal. I must say that you’ve done a awesome job with this. Also, the blog loads super quick for me on Opera. Outstanding Blog!|

When I originally commented I clicked the “Notify me when new comments are added” checkbox and now each time a comment is added I get several emails with the same comment. Is there any way you can remove me from that service? Appreciate it!|
